We wanted to digitally communicate to the investor to benefit from all market conditions and opt for SIPs owing to their ability to balance risk of volatility, along with highlighting the dynamic market movements in the campaign itself. To achieve these objectives, we launched a technologically advanced real-time API integrated Sensex movement email campaign. This smart campaign was 100% automated, displayed real-time Sensex movement information and nudged investors to rely on SIPs during volatile market conditions. We adopted API technology to evolve both the creative and the workflow. An automated, smart Sensex API integrated workflow was built in ACM which could automatically calculate points difference from previous day Sensex value.

The campaign was then automatically and immediately rolled out without any manual intervention only in an event when Sensex dropped more than 450 points from the previous day. This empowered us to reach our investors at the right time with the right messaging without any time lags. We also integrated the campaign creative with real-time Sensex APIs, wherein dynamic Sensex movement with zero lag could be viewed by the investors any time they opened the email. These innovations hit it out of the park and made the campaign time relevant, increased its shelf life and eliminated the stale factor.

The investor could now track changing market movements in the email creative itself and start an SIP in Nippon India Growth Fund through a personalized SIP link embedded in the campaign. Upon clicking the link, the users were directed to a personalized purchase page where details like name, folio number, scheme name, etc. were pre-filled and starting an SIP became a two-click journey. The campaign was rolled out to existing investors of Nippon India Mutual Fund when the Sensex dropped more than 450 points and achieved a peak open rate of 30.63%, with an average open rate of 20.6%. This was an 157% increase from the average open rate from regular campaigns.

It also resulted in 7,711 transactions from the investors leading to a business value of a whopping 17 crores.
