What the transcript puts on the table.

Getting people together in smaller groups and making them realize that we are all in it together and they are not just grown by them was very helpful when it came to team motivation.

The 18 month period has definitely been a new set of challenges. When we all went to lockdown in the month of March, we were all facing like an existential crisis. Will we really come out on the other side? Will humanity be alive? Will there be business to do? And I would group the challenges in three specific categories. One was challenge at a team level. How do you keep the motivation of the team high? Especially when you have a bunch of very young people who are going to be seeing this kind of a situation for the very first time in their lives. How do you guide your clients in this situation? We are in the communication business. So what should your clients be doing? And third, how do you take care of the business itself?

You know, being in communication business. If shops are closed and factories are closed, what exactly are you going to put away? What happens to the business? I think what worked best at the team level was a lot of communication or conversation with the team. Just to keep that motivation levels high. You know, doing small town halls, getting them on small groups together, having a chat, showcasing some of the good work that some of the team members are doing and actually going out and ensuring that people who are, the police and all are getting food even during the lockdown period and stuff like that.

Getting people together in smaller groups and making them realize that we are all in it together and they are not just grown by them was very helpful when it came to team motivation. Giving the team the confidence that at a management level, we are doing everything to be sure that as the business, we are able to navigate these deep waters and that there will be no salary cuts or no job losses happening. There was one critical challenge managing the team. The second challenge came more in terms of guiding clients. I mean, clients are experiencing this for the first time. So should you be putting out content? Should we be empathetic in nature? Should we be doing anything at all? Should we be keeping quiet? Suddenly media has become very cheap.

Should we actually find a way to over communicate? So we have to go back and give different client different kind of strategies depending on the kind of business they were in and helping them understand that how are we going to handle this crisis. And the third very clearly was at a business level. We had to reimagine the business very quickly. You know, if spends are going down, how do you still ensure that we are able to put food on the table every day for the team? So for all of us, it was like a whole bunch of challenges, but I think together as a company, as a group of people, we probably managed to navigate it very well.
