There were about two or three campaigns that really stood out for me. One was the state of Ohio in the US which is they had a Vax a Million campaign that was launched during the pandemic last year. It was very simple and effective. What it is to drive up the falling vaccination rates in the state, the government launched a campaign to give about $1 million in prizes to five adults and another full ride in public scholarships to teens who get vaccinated against COVID-19. You know, while millions around the world were desperate to get vaccinated, many anti-vaxxers in America needed to be enticed with incentives. So to me, the bold message here was whatever it takes
to get the job done, so be it and lottery war, this campaign was very effective in getting that across. So that campaign certainly stood out for me. The other campaign I think it was widely appreciated was Nike's You Can't Stop a Split Screen video. It was beautiful and timely for many reasons. Created with about 4,000 pieces of footage, the montage conveys how sport brings us together, even in dark times and instills hope for a better future. It was really inspiring to see sports persons not holding back, despised closed gyms, stadiums and know the facilities available for them to really go out there and practice and play their games. So that was the second campaign and third I think closer home which is a creds ad that featured Rahul Dawit.
I think that was a masterstroke for me. No one in their wildest imaginations would have thought of associating Rahul Rawit with a gunda. His good boy image literally precedes him and even supersedes any negative connotation. So the surprise element in the campaign inspires you to think of the unthinkable and shows you how to get more out of your campaign through earned media. So yeah, those were my three campaigns.
