IP05 · SOURCE SIGNALS

What the transcript puts on the table.

They were running around COVID and then they were bringing the brand back and very emotional.
There was this specific campaign that I remember about a young guy, maybe in Himachal Pradesh or somewhere, who was taking old people around to get their vaccination done.
He's at a roadstaff on a daily basis saying, get the vaccination done, because you're like my mother.

IP07 · TIMELESS RULES

Durable tests for the work.

  1. Earn attention with relevance before scaling reach.
  2. Start from the customer’s situation, not the channel.
IP08 · THE QUESTION NOW

What would you keep, change or measure differently if this campaign analysis were put to work now?

What campaigns did you do to get vaccinated? One of the campaigns that I admire really well was the one done by Facebook. Actually, there were a couple of campaigns. All the campaigns were very contextual. They were running around COVID and then they were bringing the brand back and very emotional. There was this specific campaign that I remember about a young guy, maybe in Himachal Pradesh or somewhere, who was taking old people around to get their vaccination done. There was this one specific lady who refuses to get the vaccination done. He's at a roadstaff on a daily basis saying, get the vaccination done, because you're like my mother. He convinces us to get the vaccination done.

Then the old lady realizes that he's doing it because he lost his parents due to COVID. He's trying to give society back just to be sure everybody gets vaccinated. It brought the entire brand ethos together. Facebook is about connecting people. How do you connect people in a very emotional manner and very good storytelling. So that was like a very memorable campaign. Another campaign which I saw just this morning and this is the one put out by I think Chitile Bandhus around Raksha Bandhan. When they're talking of that, why do we call our nurses as sisters? You know, in this difficult period, so many sisters across the country were taking care of families and of brothers. That is why we call them sisters.

So Raksha Bandhan is not just a brother giving to a sister. This time I think sisters gave back so much to brothers that we need to acknowledge this fraternity in our country, which creates such an important part in COVID. So again, very contextual. And you know, bringing Raksha Bandhan and bringing the brand in amended like a fabulous job. So these kinds of campaigns are very emotional in nature and also have a brand connect, you know, and then contextual. It's really what's very memorable in this time.
