Durable lessons from the record.
- Start with the consumer problem, not the channel.
- Treat digital transformation as a behaviour change, not a software purchase.
- Measure effectiveness without losing the brand story.
If privacy-first marketing is now table stakes, what will make the brand genuinely harder to ignore?

It's like you know where industries we have to give always a disclaimer saying please ensure that you talk to your financial advisor before you take a risk. Awareness about financial products especially stock market is very limited among general public so how do you ensure that people are more aware about financial products stock markets and how safe is investing in the markets and the risks involved? You must be seeing lots of advertisements both in print tv and social media about share markets mutual funds etc but in India lots of
people don't believe in all such things because many people are worried about fake news fake details etc so they want an authorized source where people can trust many people are aware that we conduct around 4000 programs events investor awareness programs all across the country per year so last year also we conducted more than 4000 this year also conducting more than 4000 in march so we do lots of such programs besides that we also show small snippets on tv where we advise investors what they
should do and what they should not do so i don't think that the awareness is low it is people are aware but that trust factor has to gain and which is where bsc comes in when we advertise or we tell people that invest in shares or stocks only after reading about it from authentic sources it helps how do you use digital for that you may not be surprised to know that our site website bsc website is the most visit site during the work you are trading us lots of people if they want to know anything
about the company they do in fact we found that many of the older generation and even the newer generation is more used to vocal so like you know you have google talk or a voice so we've got chat bots where you can go on your mobile phone and ask a question about a company or about a particular stock or about a particular means and it replies back and now coming to kind of the newer generation how do you target millennials to invest in markets because these are the people who have high income and how do you
ensure that money comes into the markets most of the millennials or the new generation young people they are very well aware that as you grow the money doesn't grow as fast so one of the ways to grow faster is to take a little risk and when you are young you are a risk taker so many millennials are interested in stock markets but of course they know that it's better to leave it to the experts so they come through mutual funds so we have seen that change people go through mutual funds and they come
in fact bsc is the largest online distributor in mutual funds we've got more than 90 market share in that and we've seen lots of traction and to come to social media you will also be not knowing that bsc has a telegram group of over 7 000 people who distribute mutual funds and we talk to them day in and day out to respond to queries and solve them when it comes to marketing strategy how is it different from other industry say your marketing strategy for bsc different from other industries because you've been
a part of other industries as well earlier i worked in telecom industry also so people where there's competing products and people just want to speak or use the phones so so mobile services are totally different from financial services financial services are regulated industry if you ask any member of the financial services you know there's a regulator for insurance there's rda for stock markets there's sebi rbi is there for all currency related stuff so we all regulated industry so when we advertise
we have to ensure that we follow the regulatory guidelines it's like you know where industries we have to give always a disclaimer saying please ensure that you talk to your financial advisor before you take a risk so we find that tough but the difference in marketing is if you're an authentic source people get attracted to your news and they listen to you because that trust level is the most important thing in financial industry second is what you say and what you do should match in any industry
but more so in financial industry because there are many people who might say okay last year i got a return of x but that doesn't mean that this year you will get x because the conditions are different so which you should be able to do very well so what we've done is we've found that people find try to understand things in their own manner so if you are different from the clutter people like to listen to you so we've got some two characters hashtag and asterisk who talk about one is a risk
taker one is a proper control risk taker so you see the conversations in the print media or tv or some digital ads and you'll see that another way is people use search engines quite a lot so we are because people use our sites so regularly we talk to them through our websites so when they search for something they get to know and bsc sources as i told you is very trusted and we keep information very promptly we are the fastest exchange in the world and people have come to realize that if you ask bsc you
get response much much faster than many other people so markets involve a lot of risk and a lot of stress so how do you unwind after work actually i enjoy working so if you ask me my unwinding is my work most of the time when we work we have meetings we take decisions and we execute them as long as it's not burdensome it's our regular job i enjoy that quite a lot second is in our work we get to meet a lot of people of various types both in marketing technology etc so that itself experiencing time
with them spending some time with them is a lot of unwinding of course besides that i've got my children and my family we do take a day off on saturday sunday and go somewhere and relax and rejuvenate ourselves to come and work another day but i feel that when your exchanges work for almost 24 hours a day i've got an international exchange in the international finance service center and it works for 22 hours today even in bsc we have started uh thinking going along uh going very very long which means that you have to be prepared for 20 hours
