Honoring Data-Driven Marketing Excellence

Since 2014, the DMAi Marketer of the Year (MoY) Award honors the achievement, innovation and inspiring leadership of an individual whose work represents the very best in data-driven marketing industry. The individual being considered would have exhibited corporate and social responsibility through the innovation and implementation of new products, services, processes and growth within the last 12 months.

Those being considered have had a positive impact on the marketing community and excelled at connecting data and the consumer through data-driven marketing. Marketer of the Year Award is a celebration of bold decisions and strong growth in a field burdened by tight budgets, ever-changing media options and fickle customer demands. Only marketers & brands that have had an outstanding 2016 and are planning for future success need apply.

The Award program is fashioned closely on the lines of the program at the global DMA. It has, however, been re-modeled to serve the needs of the fraternity. Based on feedback from the past jury and current advisory council, we have, in 2016, enhanced the program to recognise two receipient groups a) Individuals and 2) Organisations.

For the inaugural year, 2014, and for 2015, the program ran as as a joint citation for an Individual and the Organisation.

Marketer of Year Awards to individuals will be given under 6 categories:

“The DMAi Marketer of the Year Award, for Organisation, will be given across 6 categories:

New Launch : Awarded for a newly launched product or brand.
Customer Connect : For a corporation that has forged significantly greater relationships / engagement with its customers on an ongoing basis.
Brand Extension : Where a brand has expanded into newer services/offerings. Not applicable for variants of an existing brand.
Brand Re-Launch : Where a brand has reinvented itself in a way that captured the imagination of people.
Social Impact : Where a corporation/brand/product has worked beyond the motive of profit, and promoted a cause or helped promote sustainability by way of enhancements in its daily business or way of life.
Business Impact : The Top Prize, for a corporation showcasing overall effectiveness translating into business impact.

Factors considered for performance include – an individual:

1. Has demonstrated leadership through the innovation and implementation of new products or services, processes, or personal growth using data-driven marketing, and shown results.
2. Has made the best of data and technology to showcase his/her contribution within the marketing community.
3. Has a proven commitment towards enhancing the data driven marketing & advertising community.
4. Has the ability to influence the marketing community and elevate status quo.
5. Has had an impact on the data-driven marketing and advertising within the last 12 months.
6. Has exhibited tremendous corporate and social responsibility.

All entries to be submitted online. The program is to be governed by eminent Jury members, led by a chairperson.

The jury members will review the nominations and assign it a score of 0 or 1, considering on the aspects such as benefits, effectiveness, data and recency. The nomination with the highest score will be announced the winner. Single winner will be declared under one category unless it’s a tie or joint effort.

The complete judging process is online. Scores are not made public or revealed to other jury members.
